Killing of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile #blacklivesmatter

Let me start off by saying: I am so sick and tired of waking up in the morning to see that more black individuals were KILLED by police officers, whose job is to protect people rather than shoot them for unjust reasons that relate to their skin color.

On July 6 2016, Alton Sterling was shot multiple times after police officers stated that he had a weapon. As clearly seen in the video published, no weapon was seen, but after the two police officers shot him, one of them kneeled down and got something out of his pocket. Whatever he got out of his pocket was in my opinion small and couldn’t have been a weapon. After talking to one of the witnesses, he said he might have seen a weapon, but Sterling was not trying to take it out.

This killing sickens me because Sterling was just a normal guy trying to sell CD’s, and although it is illegal, he DID NOT DESERVE TO BE KILLED FOR IT. He had a family who cared, loved, and depended on him. His children are going to have to live with the fact that their father was killed for no reason other than his skin color, and that is something no one deserves to live with.

On July 7 2016, Philando Castile, a school cafeteria worker, was shot three times for an unjust, unapparent reason. He was stopped for a broken taillight, the officer asked him for his licence, so Castile let him know that he had a shotgun with him, and that is when the officer shot him. In the 10-minute video taken by his girlfriend, the officer clearly knows that he was guilty because he was crying, swearing and trying to make excuses. It sucks knowing how there was a 4-year-old in the car as the events unfolded and how it will forever scar that little girl.

I can’t even begin to imagine how black people feel after all the unjust killings that is happening. I don’t know how it feels to be always scared from the people who were hired to literally protect them. And I don’t know how long it will take before this messed up justice system starts to change, but I know for a fact that if nothing changes, horrible things will be coming in the system’s way.

It’s not up to you

Its not up to you to decide who should live and who should not. You’re here to live your own life , not everyone else’s.

Its not up to you to decide who’s pretty and who’s ugly. People weren’t born to look all the same and fall under some human constructed standard.

It’s not up to you to decide weather someone is smart or not. Before you judge other people’s intelligence, you should take a good look around you and realize that what you know Is a small fraction of the amount of knowledge excised.

It’s not up to you to decide who’s a good person or who isn’t. You yourself aren’t perfect so don’t go around judging other people’s imperfections.

Its not up to you to decide who’s worth it or not

Its not up to you to decide anything;

Your only job here is to live your own life and make decisions that concern you.

Your only job here is to be better than the person you were yesterday and that only starts once you stop deciding how everyone should live thier life

Realization

Life can be really funny sometimes,

You’d be walking down the street, and ONE thing, only one thing can happen and flip your life around.

One thing could make you a better person, while one other thing could make you a bitter person.

The difference between happiness and sadness could literally be hours away!!!

Every day, you wake up in the morning, having no idea what to expect,

Sometimes your day could go softly and be very usual like every other day,

While other days, major things could happen, and could even impact your whole being.

You never really know what is going to happen next – if you would get fired, get hired, get accepted in the university of your dreams, winning the lottery, the death of someone close to you, or even your own death-.

Personally, this realization helped me live in the moment.

It helped me appreciate every minute, even every second of my life.

It helped me see the world in a new way – new perspective-

Because you never really know if this moment will happen again in your life,

You never really know how the situation that you’re in right now will turn out.

What does this realization help you see?

ISIS burning Moaz AL-Kasasbeh alive

On the 24th of December, 2014, the Jordanian pilot Moaz AL-Kasasbeh was taken as a hostage for ISIS after his plane crashed in the Mediterranean Sea.  After the videos of the two Japanese hostages were out, the plans of releasing Moaz were included with the plans of releasing the Japanese hostages. ISIS then asked for 200 million dollars for letting the hostages go. The plans did not work out, and 10 days later, the first Japanese hostage was killed. Then, ISIS asked the Jordanian government to let go of the Jordanian terrorist, Sajida Reshawi, who was involved in a terrorist attack in 2005. They said they would exchange Sajida with the second Japanese hostage, and if it doesn’t go as planned, the pilot Moaz will be killed. Plans did not work out, and the second Japanese hostage was killed by cutting his head off. As for the Jordanian pilot, Moaz, he was killed this Friday morning.

The whole story is ugly, but the ugliest part about it is how Moaz was killed. He was burned to death!!! And after they burned him they dumbed rocks over his body, so that even his dead body is hard to retrieve. They did not even kill him in a peaceful way; instead they let him suffer before he died. Just imagine the way he felt right before he died, right before he saw the flames coming his way, and during the time he was on fire! Imagine what his family must have felt watching that video! Imagine looking at someone from your own family burning, suffering, and dying!

Two minutes! All it took was two minutes to end his life, his dreams, his hopes, his future, his past, his thoughts, him, all that gone in under two minutes! Two minutes have ended his story; two minutes have caused his family and loved ones to lose him forever!  He got married only five months before his death, and these two minutes took away the joy of his wife! Two minutes have ended the life of this great young man!

And ones who killed him, I have to say, I am very disgusted by what they did. I was truly in shock while watching the video, and I still am. I just can’t believe how something this ugly could be done to an innocent person, to a great pilot, and a loving individual. I can’t believe how someone would do something like that to another human being, to a Muslim and to an Arab, just like them, and all that for what? For money? Like is it even worth it?

I am truly sorry for the loss of Moaz AL-Kasasbeh and the other two Japanese hostages. RIP Moaz AL-Kasasbeh! May your soul rest in peace!

SOCIETY

Today I will be talking about the society,

I have lots and lots of words to write on the society, but I’ll be keeping it short for now and maybe have a part 2 later on.

Let’s all face it, our society is MESSED UP! It truly is.

I mean, look at what’s happening around us,

Wars, fights, racism, sexism, bullying, judgment, etc.,,,,,

Like what is going on with the world?!

Let’s just talk about judgment today,

We ALL get judged almost every day, and we judge others too,

But why? Aren’t we all humans? Don’t we all make mistakes? Don’t we all want to live in a peaceful world where no one is judged based on their looks or sex or age or country?

So why do we judge? Can’t we just stop it?

I’m not saying I never judge anyone

I do judge, but I try my best not to,

Whenever I catch myself judging someone, I immediately stop thinking about it,

Because I don’t want to be judged so why judge?

But real talk here, society will judge you no matter what you do,

Good or bad, people will always have something to say about it,

For example:

You talk to lots of guys:  “oh look at her talking to all those guys, how slutty”

You talk to no guys: “oh she’s socially awkward”

You wear makeup: “fake beauty!”

You wear no makeup: “she’s looks plain and ugly, why doesn’t she wear any makeup”

You dress up nicely: “why is she so dressed up? All that to impress other guys?”

You wear sweatpants and a t-shirt: “why the hell isn’t she dressed up nicer?”

You are really outgoing: “attention whore”

You have some close friends and you only talk to them: “anti-social”

I mean these are just a few examples that I’ve personally been through,

I am sure there are many more,

But, at the end of the day, just remember this:

If people always have something to say about your life,

That’s saying little about their own,

Keep your head up, Stay strong, and just breathe.

Do whatever makes YOU happy and screw what others has to say,

Because it’s your life, and you have the right to live it however you want to.
